About Me

Story Of The Band

Having graduated from San Marcos high school on the central coast and after a year of college in New Jersey, I found myself enrolled at ASU in Tempe, Arizona. I'm a golfer by trade but having been bit by the rock music bug, I decided to set my aims to play on the senior tour instead of the PGA tour and I'm dedicating these years to bringing my music to the people.

There was something about the sweltering desert heat and the vacant Tempe summer streets when the college students flew home that played an integral part in the development of my songwriting. The birth itself can be traced to the main riff of the song Paradise. It started out as a tune called Castles On Dark Hills which originally had a haunting and slow place, and which contained the lines:

Insecure, self assured

Castles on dark hills

Sing out now, if you dare

Silver sword for you

At the time of writing these first-ever avec deluca lines I was still entrenched in the world of golf and women. My life revolved around those two things. I recorded the riff to what is now Paradise first into a handheld Olympus voice recorder and I'd play it back and I knew that my life would be consumed by composing music. I still played golf and I still dated women but from then on there was and still is a new love in my life: avec deluca.

Those early lyrics also set in motion the underlying theme that shows up in my songs frequently of the mystic side of the world involving dragons and occult imagery.
